VI COMMANDO

RSM William “Timber” Woodcock, formerly a Sergeant of the South Staffordshire Regiment then a TSM with No.4 Commando before transferring on promotion to become the first RSM of the new Command Basic Training Centre at Achnancarry, served with No.6 Commando from at least 24^th June 1943 until, at least, 24^th March 1945.

He is noted as being present during the attack on Bavent on 8^th June 1944 – but not necessarily as the RSM of No.6 – just that men of No.6 had met him there.
